Worth it, mostly

I have logged over 200 books in about 5 hours. Of all those, less than 20 have needed any significant editing. I could have done more if batch entry worked and if the available cover pictures weren’t mostly crappy. I don’t like how you can’t edit the order of pics, and the search and sort features are weak. What if I want to sort by author’s last name? Surely this should be possible since the fields are in the database. As for wishlists: say I want a book. Do I have the ISBN? Probably not, since I DON’T HAVE THE BOOK. But I know the title and maybe the author, or maybe not…can I save it to my wishlist? No. What is the point? Fix those some things and earn a couple more stars. But all in all, still worth paying $10 for the iOS version. WARNINGS: 1) it would not be worth the upsell for the MacOS version. $50 is way out of line. 2) the only way to re-import lost data is to send a .csv file to the developers for them to send back. And requiring an icloud account for every device you use to manage your own data would seem to eliminate that need. 3) privacy issues. Them having to manage my imports is a huge red flag. Please explain how “data collected but not connected to user” claim is possible, given the re-import situation.

So useful!! Only a tad buggy..

I use this app regularly to catalogue my large plushie/stuffed animal figure collection. It’s very useful and simple and makes it super easy to quickly take pictures of the item and form an alphabetical list of all of them. You can also sort your collection by color, type, category, pretty much anything! It’s really quite nice if you want to keep track of collectibles you care about. I also love how easy it is to convert a wishlist item to an owned item!
Sadly I’ve run into a few bugs since downloading it almost 3 months ago: I have issues updating information on existing items, such as the retired date. Sometimes the fields will not fill in after saving. Usually a restart fixes it though.
I also recently experienced a bug in which adding/saving new item, instead replaced an old item’s pictures with pictures from the new item, and deleting the new items information causing me to have to type it all in again ><
These bugs do not occur frequently, and actually don’t deter me from using it at least weekly. It beats keeping track of everything on a notepad note! :)

The app is a 3.5. It’s almost there.

I love this app because I love cataloguing my collectibles. I’m almost obsessive about keeping as much information and details on my items, and this app is great for that. However, I still think it needs a little more work put into it tho. Some of the features are more difficult than they should be. And there are some small details, like the limit of only adding 4 photos to a item, some weird photo changing going on where my item photos change to others, the fact that I can’t see the entire title of the item I’m typing in (if it’s a long title) because the box is so small, a navigation error that doesn’t save a item and a few other small details that irk me. Also, **BE WARNED** that the offer price to buy more item space when you reach your max in a category is very deceptive!!!! They will offer you $9.99 for unlimited space in each category, but they don’t tell you that you can make a similar price purchase for unlimited space for all categories. Buy the time I had figured that out I had already purchased two categories. Pretty shady on their part to be honest. I think iCollect will eventually remedy the features and make the app a little more user friendly.
