Description

Archive Web pages and Tweets to the Wayback Machine!

To archive Web pages or Tweets simply "Share" them to this app.

From Safari - select the "Share" icon at the bottom of the screen then select this "Wayback Machine" app.

From the Twitter app - select the "v" icon at top-right of Tweets, select "Share Tweets via..." then select this "Wayback Machine" app.

But first you must add this app to your iOS device's "Share" feature by selecting the Share icon (the up-pointing arrow at the bottom of Safari) then selecting the "..." (More) button and finally adding this app.

After you have archived your web pages or Tweets you can confidently share their Wayback Machine URLs via Twitter, Facebook, Email, etc. knowing they will be there for decades to come.

A disappointment

In some ways, this is better than using the Wayback Machine in Safari, but in many more ways this app is extremely restrictive.

For example, there is no way to navigate backwards if you click a link.

There is no refresh option, which is key for whatever reason on Wayback.

I support and donate to the Internet Archive, but this app isn’t ready for release.

One thing they did extremely well is the time-based overview. I think it’s extremely well thought out and executed. If the app did two things, it would be 5-stars in my mind:

1, do not require a login for basic use

2, build more controls into the browser, including navigation, reload, and bookmarking

Thank you for developing this app.

Good! But some issues

I actually do like this app, but I do wish you could just type in the title of the webpage or just search for any words instead of having to just type in the url. But the thing I would like fixed most is for there to be a back swipe or a back arrow to go to the previous page because it’s a pain with having to click the X or having to click something else that will bring up another page. Other than that, this is a great archival app

I like the app concept but

I’m not even sure it’s saving the sites I’ve been adding for months. When I open the app per se (instead of just sharing the site I’m visiting to the app so it can save it), and ask for “overview of all archives”, it asks me to “please type a URL”. Same thing with “show recent archive” and with “show first archive”. When I do type a url to “archive page now”, it seems to save it but when I ask to see the archived page it just shows a blank. I’ve been saving urls to create my own collection for a while now but how do I even see it? I fear I’ve been wasting my time with this app.
